Xmas 2008. Part 2. The paper Christmas door wreath ”Winter Lily”

Another wreath (this time for the door) was taken from the Swedish book ”Den Stora Julboken 2007”/Bonnier Publications International AS yet again modified.

Originally it was made of old books’ pages and a polystyrole ring as the base. I made it from the same white wrapping paper that I used fot the first wreath and old newspapers as the base. I cannot cut out flowers of book pages even if tey are old and useless, sorry. Also the book suggested pinning the flowers to the base, I used usual paper glue, worked fine.

Supplies:

Old newspapers, wrapping paper, ribbon and beads for decoration, strong threads for binding, glue for paper and a bit stronger one for beads.

1. Put many old papers in the opile and roll them into thick ”sausages”. Join them with the help of strong threads into a circle.

2. Wrap the base into the white paper, again bindning it with the threads.

3. Put and tie the ribbon already.

4. Fold many layers of the wrapping paper, draw a flower on the top layer. Cut through all the layers at once. As you will need quite a lot of them, repeat this several times.

5. Glue th flowers close to each other on the base.

6. Glue the beads into the middle of each flower or spread them more if you like.

Done! Hang it on the door.
