Summer... Summer? Summer!!!

6. A blue-white mélange acrylic top was made within several days if not hours. The pattern was from some German magazine, in German, which I do not speak at all, with mistakes in the schema, yet it could not really stop me.

Wow it is apparently not so easy to maintain a blog, it demands time and even mood.

5. Today I'd like to post a very brave project of mine, brave because of its bright crimson colour. I usually avoid strong shades in clothes as I am a typical "summer" according to the "seasonal classification" and the contrasts do not really flatter me. Yet I think this one is not too bad. It actually reminded me of my childhood when my mom used to buy me lots of red (not pink, but true red!) things "to make you look fresher" as I was quite a pale thing.

This sweater is knitted with some thick acrilic yarn and even thicker pair of needles, it was a genuine pleasure to make it, the work progressed so fast! The pattern is taken from a Sandra or Sabrina (why do these German knitting magazines have almost the same name? Always mix them up) .

4. This dark blue-red mélange sweater was anoter attempt to knit without pattern. Although it did not become quite successful it gave me some idea how to make the calculations and generally prooved that it is not sooo dangerous to try something of your own. Yet with time I decided it was too short (no more yarn) so I gave it away.

3. This blue top is knitted after a pattern from some "Sabina" in 2002 I think, it almost impossible now to recollect the exact time or name. As it was a bit too loose and folowed up my arms when I lifted them I attached a broad elactic rib to the bottom. The yarn is 50 %wool.

2. The next one is made after no pattern, I just made it up myself, again the yarn is 50 % wool, there was not so much choice in Belarus in 1990s, unfortunately.

Finally I got to my hard disk where I keep a file with my projects.I start first with some earlier ones.

1. This is the oldest sweater I still have in my collection, it was made when I was 14 years old, the pattern is taken from a "Sabrina" or "Sandra" if I remember correctly. The yarn is half wool half synthetic.

  1. Well, this will be my first posting I guess. To start with, hi everybody! I have never had any blog so far so there is much to learn. Probably it was en example of a person that I respect a lot as well as some sad circumstances that pushed me, quite a lazy person to join the blog-mania.
  2. The major reason is that I would like to communicate with people who share the same passions, namely, knitting, crochetting, tatting, sewing, beading, polymerclay making and some other hobbies. Yet it is not only that, my interests are larger- reading, travels, languages, art, history, filosophy, many, many aspects of our life.
  3. I am still not very keen on inserting pictures but will do my best to improve and soon I hope I'll show some of my work (oh, that vanity!but it is sooo sweet when somebody else likes what you are doing!) So far I wish everybody a good week-end!
