Autumn competition at Hobbyportal. Part 3/4. Spider

Paper folder Spider

I am a rather organized person and like to have my magazines clips in separate folders. I have gathered some material for Halloween as well and needed a folder. So this competition was a good opportunity to fix one.

I used a black folder, orange cardon paper, and self-adherent paper lace border I purchased in a hobby shop.

I crocheted the spider following the diagram found in the Internet, although without the net around it (cotton yarn, 100gr=ca 600m, crochet 1.5).
The orange carton paper is glued to he folder, same for the spider.

Autumn competition at Hobbyportal. Part 2/4. Dame of Spades

Necklace Dame of Spades

Halloween is still not much known holiday in former Soviet republics so it was not very easy to carry out a competition for it on a Russian site. Yet I think the works became quite interesting and creative.

One of my works was the necklace “Dame of Spades” (after the famous opera and Pushkin’s work)

I used the cotton yarn (100 gr =ca 600m), crochet 1.5, a metal chain, old earrings and a part from a broken ring
.
Take the round piece from the (broken) ring and start crochet around it.
Hide the ends f the threads and hang the beads/parts of the earrings on the flower:
Sew the upper part of the flower to the black satin ribbon. Decorate with beads:
Crochet two smaller flowers:
Place and then sew the smaller flowers to the ribbon:
With the help of small metal join rings hang the parts of the earrings/beads on the necklace:
Sew the metal parts of the lock to the both ends of hte ribbon, decorate with beads:
Ready for the ball:

Autumn competition at Hobbyportal. Part 1/4. Autumn breeze

On my favorite craft site, http://www.hobbyportal.ru/ , we have competitions in different crafts every season.
I usually participate in those in knitting and lace. It’s a great insensitive and a kick for creativity.

Fall 2008 I took part in the lace competitions Golden autumn and Halloween.

Here come my works.
Bag Autumn breeze

It’s a canvas bag I got from Lancôme when I shopped makeup for a huuuge (for me) sum of money. I decided to customize it a bit.

The techniques are mixed: tatting with beads (ankars), crochet and irregular net from Irish lace. I used two types of yarn, mercerized cotton, 50 gr are ca 160 m, crochet 2,5; beads.

First I made separate elements, then joined them by the irregular net of Irish lace technique.
